Coursework

01
Beginner Korean (Hangul)
While attending Korea University, I took a Korean Language Course, which taught the Korean Alphabet, known as Hangul. We learned the pronunciation and symbols in Hangul and were able to apply our knowledge to basic phrases. Classes were a combination of writing, listening, and speaking practice, and we were able to practice the phrases while shopping and exploring Seoul.
02
Comparative Linguistics
I was also able to take a linguistics course while at Korea University, comparing the phonological, morphological, and syntactical properties of different Asian Languages. I also shared a presentation about Korean Phonology or the sounds of the Korean alphabet (Hangul). Due to the fact that this course was taught over zoom, I was able to meet classmates from all over the world. There was a student who lived in Beijing, China, and another who lived in France. It was fascinating to hear how the Korean language differed from their native languages, and we were all able to bring different perspectives to the class. International Business
In International Business, we examine the Political, Economic, Sociocultural, Technological, Environmental, and Legal aspects of large nations. We discuss how business exchanges and communication differ for each country, and how to show respect when interacting with people of other cultures, religions, or ethnicities.
04
Experiencing Music
Experiencing Music teaches us about how music is shaped by social, political, and cultural aspects of a region, and also how music impacts that region. We also learn about how music styles have transferred between regions and the different purposes for which music may be used for.
